The new position is being created in light of highly publicized racist incidents at two Sacramento City Unified campuses.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) has created a new position to address racism at its 75 campuses across the city of Sacramento

The position, to be fulfilled by social justice attorney Mark Harris, will provide independent recommendations to the district on investigations and racist incidents. The goal of the liaison role is to prevent racist incidents in the future, SCUSD officials say.
