In its 2017 report titled “Race Counts,” the Advancement Project stated it clearly: Marin is No. 1 for racial disparities among all California counties.
Marin is often No. 1, but it’s usually as the healthiest or wealthiest county. This designation has been disturbing to equity activists, government officials, community leaders and residents alike. Many, it should be noted, were not so surprised.
