The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) have launched a Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity (HIRE) to advance equal employment opportunity and build on the legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr.

To kick off the initiative, the agencies will host a virtual roundtable – “Building on Dr. King’s Legacy: Launch of HIRE, a Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity” – that will focus on strategies for advancing racial equity for workers from underserved communities will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
