Even as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot continues to wrestle with Chicago’s crime problem, the leading candidates for governor are finding the issue is equally sticky for them, with ramifications and complications regardless of what they do.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker learned that earlier this week when the campaign of GOP hopeful Richard Irvin rather shrewdly tied the Democratic incumbent to controversial Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, suggesting that he is “enabling” Foxx in her desire to “release violent criminals from prison early.”
